¾ cup | Sifted flour |
½ teaspoon | Cream of tartar |
¼ teaspoon | Baking soda |
⅛ teaspoon | Salt |
⅛ teaspoon | Nutmeg |

Date: Wed, 30 Nov 1994 21:37:21 GMT Mix together shortening, sugar, egg and milk. Sift and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda, salt and nutmeg. Make cinnamon/sugar mixture for use later. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 375 degrees or until brown but still soft.
(I usually make at least a double batch of these, which greatly simplifies the ½ egg ingredient!)
