Snickerdoodles #01

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Soft shortening (part butter)
¾ cup Sugar
1 Egg
1⅓ cup Sifted flour
1 teaspoon Cream of tartar
½ teaspoon Soda
⅛ teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Cinnamon
1 tablespoon Sugar

Cream shortening, ¾ cup sugar and egg thoroughly. Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Add to shortening mixture. Combine cinnamon and 1 tablespoon sugar. Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes, until lightly browned, but still soft.
