|2 pounds||Steak, round; cut 1/2\" thick|
|¼ teaspoon||Black pepper|
|1 \N||Orange; unpeeled, thinly sliced|
|1 medium||Onion; thinly sliced|
|1 \N||Lemon; unpeeled, thinly sliced|
|6 \N||Cloves, whole|
Cut steak into 6 serving-size pieces. Combine flour, salt, and pepper; pound into steak. Brown steak in hot shortening. Arrange steak in baking dish. Combine catsup and water and pour over meat.
Place orange slices on top of meat; top with onion slices, then lemon slices. Stick a whole clove in each stack. Cover dish and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
