Sausage burgers

Ingredients

2 | pounds | Sausage, bulk pork |
3 | tablespoons | Water |
2 | larges | Tomatoes; cut in 3 slices ea |
1 | medium | Onion; cut in 8 slices and separated into rings |
8 | Buns, hamburger; warmed |
Directions
Shape sausage into 8 patties, ½ to ¾ inch thick, 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Place in a cold frying pan; add water, cover, and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Pour off drippings. Cook patties slowly on both sides until well done. Place patties, tomato slices, and onion rings between halves of warmed hamburger buns.
