Pam's pea salad

Ingredients

QuantityIngredient
1pack(10 oz) frozen green peas, thawed (use microwave)
¼cupChopped onion
½cupChopped green pepper
½cupChopped celery
2cans(6 oz) sliced water chestnuts (drained)
1teaspoonSugar
8ouncesLarge curd cottage cheese
½cupMayonnaise
Optional:
1cupShredded mozarella cheese
¼cupReal bacon-bits

Directions

Combine ingredients in order listed. Mix until well blended. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled. Serves 6.

Note: The "optional" is what I added that Pam did not include with her original recipe. This definitely goes into my keeper file. There's just about enough for hubby to take in his lunch tomorrow. He ate the majority of what was there....and raved about it.

You know, I think this would be good with a couple of fresh tomato wedges added as well.
