Low-fat country sausage patties

Ingredients

1poundsground turkey; beefalo, or extra lean be
½cupbreadcrumbs
2clovesgarlic; minced
2tablespoonsfresh parsley; finely chopped or
2teaspoonsdried parsley
1teaspoonthyme
1teaspoonsage
½teaspoonmarjoram
½teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoonfresh ground pepper
¾teaspooncrushed hot red pepper
1nonstick cooking spray

Directions

Combine all ingredients and form into 8 patties. "Fry" in a Teflon pan coated with nonstick cooking spray until brown and crisp on both sides, about 20 min. Add a little water during cooking if patties begin to stick.

Variation: Add chopped onions and mushrooms and shape into one meatloaf and bake.

Per single patty serving using turkey: 7⅕ g fat, 2.0 g saturated fat, 35 mg chol., and 221 mg salt.
