Homemade baking mix

Measure Ingredient
3 cups Whole wheat flour
7 cups All purpose flour
6 tablespoons Baking pwder
1½ tablespoon Salt
1½ teaspoon Cream of tartar
2 cups Shortening
2 cups Instant nonfat dry milk

1. Mix together flours, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar.

2. With pastry cutter cut in shortening until the mixture is the consistency of cornmeal. Gently stir in the dry milk.

3. Store in tight container in cool place. Yields 4 lbs.
