Measure | Ingredient |

4 cups | Boiling water |
1 cup | Quick-cooking grits |
1½ teaspoon | Salt |
6 tablespoons | Butter or margarine |
1½ \N | Ts |
\N \N | Worcestershire sauce |
1½ teaspoon | Hot pepper sauce |
1¼ cup | Shredded sharp Cheddar cheese |
1 tablespoon | Sherry |
1 \N | Egg, beaten |
How to Prepare:
1.Combine the boiling water, grits and salt in a saucepan; mix well.
2.Cook, covered, over low heat for 5 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed.
3.Stir in the butter, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, 1 cup of the cheese and sherry.
4.Fold in the egg until mixed. Spoon into a greased 2½ quart baking dish; sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour or until bubbly.
Note by Judy: Chopped green chiles can be used in place of hot sauce.
