Fruit crisp

Ingredients

3cupsApples, cooking; peeled, cored, and sliced
3cupsPears; peeled, cored, sliced
1tablespoonLemon juice
5tablespoonsMargarine, nondairy
1cupFlour, pastry, whole wheat
cupOats, rolled
½cupSugar, brown OR
½cupMaple syrup granules
1teaspoonCinnamon, ground
¼teaspoonNutmeg, freshly ground
½cupWalnuts; coarsely chopped

Directions

Place fruit in an 8½-inch round glass dish.

Sprinkle wiht lemon juice.

In a large bowl, cut butte into flour with a pastry cutter. Stir in remaining ingredients. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples and pears.

Microwave, uncovered, on high for 11 to 13 minutes, or until fruit is tender, rotating twice. Let stand until cool enough to serve. Serves 6-8.
