Winter fruit crisp

Ingredients

¼cupMelted unsalted butter
½cupSugar
½teaspoonGround cloves
2tablespoonsSliced almonds
Fruit:
1cupSugar
3tablespoonsFlour
3largesGolden delicious apples,
Peeled, cored & sliced
2largesPears, peeled, cored &
Sliced
cupCranberried, fresh or
Frozen
2tablespoonsLemon juice

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. For topping, combine bread, butter, sugar, cloves & almonds in large bowl. To prepared fruit, toss together sugar & flour in large bowl until combined. Add apples, pears, cranberries & lemon juice, tossing until combined. Spoon into 13X9X2" baking dish or oval baking dish. Sprinkle on topping, leaving 1" border of fruit showing around rim of dish. Tent loosely with aluminum foil. Place on baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes or until bubbly & fruit in center of dish is tender when pierced with a fork. Remove foil during last 30 minutes or baking. Cool until warm.

Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
