Doris's fruit ice cream

Ingredients

QuantityIngredient
5pintsHalf and half milk
cupSugar
¾cupChopped nuts
¾cupCrushed pineapple
½teaspoonSalt
3tablespoonsLemon juice
6Eggs; beaten
tablespoonVanilla
¾cupBananas; diced
¾cupCherries; chopped
¾cupStrawberries; chopped

Directions

Mix Half and Half, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Cook slowly until mixture coats spoon. Remove from heat and cool. Combine fruit, nuts, salt and lemon juice. Let stand 10 minutes. Add to custard and pour in 1-gallon ice cream freezer.
