Doris's fruit ice cream

Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |

5 | pints | Half and half milk |
2½ | cup | Sugar |
¾ | cup | Chopped nuts |
¾ | cup | Crushed pineapple |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
3 | tablespoons | Lemon juice |
6 | Eggs; beaten | |
1½ | tablespoon | Vanilla |
¾ | cup | Bananas; diced |
¾ | cup | Cherries; chopped |
¾ | cup | Strawberries; chopped |
Directions
Mix Half and Half, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Cook slowly until mixture coats spoon. Remove from heat and cool. Combine fruit, nuts, salt and lemon juice. Let stand 10 minutes. Add to custard and pour in 1-gallon ice cream freezer.
