Cucumber-cheese salad

8mediumsFresh cucumbers
1Spring onions or chives --
Choped
12ouncesCottage cheese
½cupSour cream
7tablespoonsLox -- choped
Salt
White pepper

Directions

Slit the cucumbers in two lengthwise. Do not peel them. Scoop most of the flesh and chop it up coarsely. Add the onion, cheese, sour cream, lox, salt and pepper and mix well. Fill into the cucumber shells and serve chiled on lettuce.
