1 can | (17-oz) pitted Bing cherries; drained |
3 packs | (3-oz) cherry-flavored gelatin |
1 \N | Envelope unflavored gelatin |
½ cup | Cold water |
3 packs | (3-oz) cream cheese; softened |
1 can | (20-oz) crushed pineapple |
2 \N | Bottles (6-oz) Cola beverage |
\N \N | Chopped nuts (optional) |
Heat cherry juice and dissolve cherry gelatin in this. Add unflavored gelatin to ½ cup cold water; add to hot gelatin mixture and stir until dissolved. Mash cream cheese and add to warm mixture. Add 1 cup each of cherries and undrained pineapple. Chill slightly. Add remainder of cherries and pineapple. Add cola beverage, and nuts, if desired. Chill in refrigerator until firm. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
