Basic candy popcorn

Ingredients

1cupSugar
cupWhite corn syrup
1tablespoonButter
Oil of peppermint *
2dropsFood coloring
½cupPopcorn; popped

Directions

In a heavy saucepan put the water, sugar, corn syrup and butter. Cook over a moderate heat to 280~ on a candy thermomter. Add the oil and the food coloring.

Stir well and pour over the popped corn.
