¼ cup | Onion, chopped |
3 tablespoons | Green pepper, chopped |
1 pounds | Hamburger (lean) |
2 tablespoons | Butter or margarine |
***Sauce*** | |
½ cup | Tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons | Brown sugar |
½ cup | Ketchup |
1 teaspoon | Prepared mustard |
3 tablespoons | Vinegar |
1 cup | Celery, diced |
Saute the onion, green pepper, and hamburger in the 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the salt. (I omit the salt entirely) Sauce: Mix in bowl and add to the meat mixture.
Simmer for ½ hour. If soupy add 1 teaspoon of corntarch.
Note: This is one of our favorites. The recipe is easily doubled.
