Pan-barbecued steak

Ingredients

| ½ | teaspoon | Salt (or garlic salt) |
| ½ | teaspoon | Pepper |
| 3 | tablespoons | Shortening |
| 1 | each | Onion; chopped |
| 1 | tablespoon | Celery seed |
| 1 | clove | Garlic; chopped |
| 4 | tablespoons | Brown sugar |
| 4 | tablespoons | Prepared mustard |
| 3 | tablespoons | Worcestershire sauce |
| 2 | tablespoons | Lemon juice |
| 1 | can | (10-3/4 oz) tomato soup |
Directions
Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. Melt shortening in heavy skillet; brown steak with onion, celery
seed and garlic. Add remaining ingredients; simmer, covered, for 1-½ hours. Check after 45 minutes; add a little water if necessary, and stir.
