|¼ cup||Rolled oats|
|¼ cup||Wheat flakes * see note|
|¼ cup||Barley flakes * see note|
|⅔ cup||Nonfat dry milk|
|¼ cup||Wheat germ|
A chunky, nutty blend of cereals that's worth the extra cooking time.
Prepare it the night before & reheat with a litte extra water or milk on top of the stove or in the microwave. Alsoused in other Recipies Serves 2 1)Bring the water & salt to a boil in a small nonstick saucepan. Gradually stir in the cereals. Cover and cook for 30 minutes, stiring occasionally 2)Remove the pan from the heat and blend in the dry milk and wheat germ thoroughly. Serve Immediately, with skim milk if desired.
2 Whole grain servings; 1calcium serving; ⅔ protien serving. NOTE: The wheat and barley flakes can be found in health food stores VARIATION: For a mixed meal medley for a sweet tooth, omit the salt, substitue ⅓ Cup apple juice concentrate for ⅓ Cup of the water, and stir ¼ Cup raisins or currants into the cereal after 15 minutes of cooking
