|4||1 ounce squares unsweetened chocolate|
|1 cup||Butter or margarine|
|1½ cup||All purpose flour|
|1 teaspoon||Peppermint extract|

Add chocolate mixture, flour, and next 3 ingredients; beat at low speed 1 minutes. Spoon into a lightly greased and floured 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack 10 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar; cut into bars.
Garnish, if desired. Yield 4 dozen.
