Hush puppies with onions

Measure Ingredient
1¾ cup Cornmeal
4 tablespoons Flour, all-purpose
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
6 tablespoons Onion; chopped
1 \N Egg; beaten
2 cups Water; boiling
\N \N Salad oil

Combine dry ingredients, onion, and egg; add boiling water, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth. Add more water if necessary. Drop by spoonfuls into deep, hot oil. Cook until golden brown.
