Hush puppies with corn

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Flour
1 cup Cornmeal, yellow
2 teaspoons Baking powder
¾ teaspoon Salt
¾ cup Corn, creamed
½ cup Onion; chopped
1 \N Egg; beaten
2 teaspoons Bacon dripping
\N \N Oil; for frying

Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add corn, onion, egg, and bacon dripping; stir well. Carefully drop batter by level table- spoons into deep hot oil (370 F); cook only a few at a time, turning once. Fry until the hush puppies are golden brown (3 to 5 minutes). Drain well on paper towels.
