Hash browned potatoes and cheese

Ingredients

32ouncesShredded frozen or fresh raw potatoes
½cupButter
1canCream of chicken soup
12ouncesGrated american cheese
8ouncesSour cream
1teaspoonSalt
½smallOnion; chopped -or-
2tablespoonsMinced onion
2cupsCrushed cornflakes
½cupMelted butter

Directions

Place thawed potatoes in 9x13 pan. Mix all remaining ingredients except cornflakes and ½ cup butter, and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle cornflakes over potatoes and drizzle melted butter over top. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
