Gooseberry chutney

Measure Ingredient
\N \N Top and tail the berries; and chop roughly. Chop the onions finely and
\N \N Cook with the berries in the water until they are well softened. Add the
\N \N Other ingredients; and simmer until the chutney becomes thick, stirring
\N \N Occasionally Bottle while hot and cover immediately.
\N \N This chutney; yielding about 4.5lbs becomes more mellow in flavour the
\N \N Longer it is kept.
