Ingredients

1Egg, beaten
½cupSugar
½cupLight molasses
5tablespoonsButter or margarine, melted
cupCold water
cupAll-purpose flour
1teaspoonBaking soda
1teaspoonGround ginger
½teaspoonSalt
Whipped cream

Directions

Combine egg, sugar, molasses, butter, & water. Mix well. In lg mixing bowl,stir together flour, baking soda, ginger, & salt. Add molasses mixture. Beat until well-mixed. Pour into a greased, 8" square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. or until cake tests done. Serve warm with whipped cream.
