FILLING
Beat together the butter and sugar. Add oatmeal, flour, baking soda and enough water so as to roll nicely. Mix with hands; divide dough in half. Roll out first the bottom crust. Add filling and cover with top crust. Bake in moderate oven. Cook dates, sugar, nuts and water in a saucepan. Cool before pouring onto dough. From Mollie.
