My oatmeal cookies *****

Yield: 5 dozen

Measure Ingredient
2 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
2 cups Rolled oats
1 cup Brown sugar
½ cup Butter
½ cup Shortening
½ cup Sour milk

Directions Stir first 5 ingredients together.Melt fats and mix with dry ingredients.Stir in milk, mixing well. Chill dough ½ hour. Roll out to ¼" thickness on lightly floured board. Cut with cookie cutter, about 2" in diameter.Place on greased baking sheet and bake in a moderate oven 350 degrees 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly brown.

Note; When I make these I put 2 together with jam between and they are a favorite with my grandchildren.
