Cranberry fig relish

Yield: 3 Cups

Measure Ingredient
¾ pounds Cranberries (3 cups)
1 cup Finely chopped dried figs
1 cup Chopped onion
¼ cup Packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon Grated orange rind
¼ teaspoon Pepper
½ cup Water
½ cup Red wine vinegar
¼ cup Maple syrup

In heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for about 50 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; let cool. Source: The Vancouver Sun Oct 5/94
