Measure | Ingredient |

1 cup | Flour |
1 cup | Yellow cornmeal |
½ teaspoon | Salt |
2 tablespoons | Sugar (optional) |
4 teaspoons | Baking powder |
2 \N | Eggs; beaten |
1 cup | Milk |
⅓ cup | Butter; or Kraft margarine melted |
Mix all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center.
Combine eggs, milk, and butter and add to the dry ingredients. Stir until smooth.
Butter an 8-inch square baking pan. Pour in the batter. Place in a 425 degree oven and bake 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Cut into 12-16 squares.
