Aunt sarah's chili sauce

Yield: 1 Batch

Measure Ingredient
4 quarts Tomatoes, cut in quarters
2 cups Onions, sliced
2 cups Green peppers, sliced
1 tablespoon Salt
3 tablespoons Mixed pickling spices
1 tablespoon Mustard seed
1 tablespoon Celery seed
2½ cup Cider vinegar
1 cup Sugar- brown, white, maple,
\N \N Honey, whatever is handy

Mix everything together in a big pot and put on the back of woodstove so that everything simmers gently for days. It is ready when it reaches the thickness you want. This recipe is over 150 years old.
