3poundsGround beef; (up to 4)
6largesCloves garlic; minced
2mediumsOnion; finely chopped
6quartsCanned tomatoes
2largesCan tomato paste
4tablespoonsSugar
3tablespoonsSweet basil
3tablespoonsOregano
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

In a LARGE pot brown meat, garlic, and onions. Drain. Add tomatoes, paste, and all spices. If it seems too thick add a can of water. Simmer at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

During the last hour check the thickness and add water if you feel the need.

This can be kept in sealed jars in the fridge for 4-5 weeks without the ground beef. It can also be canned or frozen without the ground beef.
