Ingredients

| ¾ | cup | Sugar |
| 2 | tablespoons | Flour |
| ½ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 5 | cups | Sliced apples |
| ¼ | cup | Water |
| 1 | tablespoon | Butter or margarine |
| 1 | cup | Flour |
| 1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Baking powder |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 3 | tablespoons | Shortening |
| ½ | cup | Milk |
Directions
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon & salt. Mix with apples. Pour into baking dish. Sprinkle with water & dot with butter or margarine. Cover with foil & bake at 400 for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, sift flour, sugar, baking powder & salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in milk. Drop by spoonfuls onto hot apples.
Bake uncovered for 25-35 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
