Easy apple cobbler

Ingredients

| 5 | cups | Peeled; sliced apples |
| ¾ | cup | Sugar |
| 2 | tablespoons | All-purpose flour |
| ½ | teaspoon | Ground cinnamon |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ¼ | cup | Water |
| 1 | teaspoon | Vanilla extract |
| 1 | tablespoon | Butter or margarine; softened |
| ½ | cup | All-purpose flour |
| ½ | cup | Sugar |
| ½ | teaspoon | Baking powder |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 2 | tablespoons | Butter or margarine; softened |
| 1 | Egg; slightly beaten | |
Directions
Combine the first 7 ingredients; mix gently. Spoon into lightly greased 9-inch square baking pan; dot with 1 tablespoon butter. Set aside.
Combine remaining ingredients; mix well, and spoon over apple mixture in 9 equal portions (batter will spread during baking). Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Yields 6 servings.
