Wilted salad dressing

Measure Ingredient
Salad greens; (leaf lettuce,
; spinach, Boston,
; bibb, etc.)
6 Mushrooms; sliced (6 to 8)
½ cup Croutons; up to 1
2 Pieces cooked bacon; crumbled, up to 3
1 bunch Or more green onions; sliced
Hard boiled egg; sliced or crumbled
3 tablespoons Salad oil or bacon drippings
2 tablespoons Sugar
⅓ cup Vinegar

DRESSING

Salad:

Combine salad ingredients in the quantities that suit your taste and/or budget.

Dressing:

Bring bacon drippings or salad oil to medium heat and add vinegar, then sugar. Stir thoroughly till sugar is dissolved and pour while hot over salad ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Use a lot of greens, as they will wilt under the heat of the dressing. Toss quickly and thoroughly to coat all ingredients and serve.
