|½ cup||Rice wine vinegar|
|½ cup||Dark brown sugar|
|3 tablespoons||Garlic -- finely chopped|
|2 teaspoons||Chili paste|
Place all the ingredients in a small heavy saucepan. Simmer uncovered over medium low heat until the sauce has reduced and thickened to a creamy consistency, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool to room temperature before serving. The sauce can be stored tightly covered in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
