Star spangled salad

Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Cherries, pitted
2 cups Blueberries
1 cup Raspberries
2 \N Pears, peeled and cubed
2 smalls Bananas, peeled, sliced
\N \N Whipped topping

Mix all ingredients. Do not overmix as the fruit will bruise easily.

Chill for at least one hour. Layer fruit mixture and whipped topping in clear glass serving dishes twice.

She tells us that she had several very good helpers in coming up with this recipe. She runs a small in-home day care, and for the last July 4th holiday she and her helpers, ages 2-½ to 5 years, brainstormed to come up with just the right holiday dessert. It has become a favorite at her house, and I think it's destined to become a favorite at our house as well.
