1 \N | (8 oz) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded |
1 cup | All-purpose flour |
¼ cup | Butter or margarine, chilled and cut up |
¼ teaspoon | Salt |
¼ teaspoon | Dry mustard |
¼ teaspoon | Ground red pepper |
3 tablespoons | Cold water |
Process first 6 ingredients in a food processor until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add 3 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and process until mixture forms a ball.
Divide dough in half. Roll each portion to ¼ inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut 1 portion with a 2½ inch star-shaped cutter. Cut remaining portion into 3 x ½ inch strips. Place stars and strips on ungreased baking sheets.
