Yield: 12 Servings
|1 pack||(6-oz) lemon jello|
|½ cup||"red hots" cinnamon candy|
|2½ cup||Boiling water|
|2 cups||Unsweetened applesauce|
|2 tablespoons||Lemon juice|
|2 packs||(3-oz) cream cheese|
|¼ cup||Milk (up to)|
|½ cup||Chopped nuts (i use toasted almonds)|
Dissolve candy and Jello in boiling water. Add applesauce and lemon juice.
Chill until partially set. Blend cheese, milk, mayonnaise and nuts. Swirl into mixture. Chill until firm in a 9x12 pyrex dish. Cut into squares.
Serve with a dab of mayonnaise or just plain.
This is a delicious "make ahead" salad and goes with anything.
