¼teaspoonTobasco sauce, or to taste
1teaspoonFinely chopped garlic
3tablespoonsPeanut,vegetable or corn oil
Salt to taste, if desired
Freshly ground pepper, to taste
¼teaspoonDried hot red pepper flakes
½Bay leaf
2tablespoonsSugar
1teaspoonPaprika
1Lemon

Directions

Combine all ingredients except the lemon in a saucepan. Add the juice of the lemon. Cut the lemon into quarters and add it. Heat thoroughly without boiling. Use the sauce to baste chicken, fish, spareribs, as they are grilled. YIELD: About 2-¾ cups.
