Mile-high steak

Yield: 4 servings

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Steak sauce
¼ cup Apricot preserves
2 tablespoons Soy sauce
½ teaspoon Ground ginger
4 Filet mignon steaks; (4 ounces each)

Preheat the grill to medium heat. In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients except the steaks; mix well. Grill the steaks for 7 to 8 minutes per side, or until desired doneness, brushing with ¼ cup of the sauce during the last 2 minutes of grilling. In a small saucepan, cook the remaining sauce mixture over medium heat until heated through. Serve the steaks topped with the sauce.

Note: For a change of pace, try changing the flavor of the preserves — peach is great, and even orange marmalade works! Air date: January 21, 1999.
