|8||Cloves garlic; crushed, (up to 10)|
|6 tablespoons||Unsalted butter|
|3 tablespoons||Olive oil|
|⅓ cup||Grated Parmesan cheese|
|1 teaspoon||Dried basil; (or 2 to 3 fresh|
|; leaves, shredded)|
|1 teaspoon||Dried oregano|
|1 teaspoon||Crushed fennel seed|
|Salt to taste|
|1 large||Crusty French bread loaf|
Combine garlic, butter, oil, cheese and seasonings and blend well. This can be done up to a few days in advance to intensify flavor. Slice bread in half lengthwise and spread mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes, or till top is almost brown.
