1teaspoonSalt
1teaspoonSugar
½mediumOnion -- grated
2Egg Yolks
2tablespoonsButter Or Shortening --
Melted
½cupMilk
Vegetable Oil -- for
Deep-frying

Directions

Combine the dry ingredients with the onion. Mix in the eggs, shortening, and enough milk to make a spongy dough. Mix only briefly.

Drop by teaspoons into deep hot fat, as for French fries.

Serve with fish, or with toothpicks as an hors d'oeuvre at your next cocktail party.
