Italian sloppy joes

1 | pounds | Bulk hot italian sausage |
4 | Cloves garlic minced | |
1 | cup | Green pepper chopped |
½ | cup | Chopped onion |
1 | can | Tomato sauce 15 ounces |
2 | tablespoons | Fresh parsley minced |
1 | teaspoon | Dried oregano |
½ | teaspoon | Chili powder |
¼ | teaspoon | Fennel seed |
8 | French rolls split | |
¾ | cup | Mozzarella cheese shredded |
Directions
Recipe By: Taste of Home May/1996 In a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook sausages, garlic, green pepper and onion until the sausage is no longer pink. Drain. Add the tomato sauce and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Spoon about ½ cup onto each roll; sprinkle with cheese.
