German potato salad (shaker)

Ingredients

7 | mediums | New potatoes |
3 | slices | Bacon |
1 | small | Onion; chopped |
½ | cup | Water |
½ | cup | Vinegar |
1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
2 | teaspoons | Cornstarch |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
Directions
Scrub potatoes. Cook in boiling water 30 minutes or until tender.
Drain, and chill well. Peel and cut potatoes into thin slices.
Cook bacon in a large skillet until done but still limp. Remove bacon, reserving drippings in skillet. Tear bacon into bite-sized pieces; set aside.
Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients; cover over medium heat until slightly thickened. Add bacon and pour over potatoes. Toss gently.
