Fresh peas or butter beans

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 quart Peas or butter beans
1½ quart Water; (1 1/2 to 2)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Piece salt meat or; (6 oz.)
2 larges Ham hocks
1 Onion; chopped

In a 4 to 6-quart pan, bring water and salt meat to boil. Add peas or butter beans and chopped onions. Lower heat to medium and cover pot. Cook 2 hours, until tender, but not mushy. During cooking time, more salt and pepper or water may be added, if needed.
