Crunchy apple bake

Yield: 6 -8

Measure Ingredient
2 \N Matzo squares, finely crumbled
3 tablespoons Melted margarine
6 teaspoons Sugar or artificial sweetener to equal, divided
1 dash Almond extract
¾ teaspoon Ground cinnamon, divided
4 mediums McIntosh apples
4 mediums Prunes, pitted and diced
2 tablespoons Water

In small bowl, combine matzoh crumbs, margarine, 2 TB sweetener, almond extract and ¼ tsp. cinnamon. Set aside.

Pare, core and slice apples. In mediu7m bowl, combine apples, prunes, water, remaining sweetener and remaining cinnamon. Transfer mixture to 8" round baking pan. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apple mixture. Cover and bake at 375 degrees F 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until apples are tender. Cool before serving.
