Chocolate pie #2

Measure Ingredient
¾ \N -(up to)
1 cup Sugar
3 tablespoons (heaping) cocoa
3 tablespoons Cornstarch
1 pinch Salt
2 cups Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3 \N Eggs; separated
¼ \N Stick butter
1 \N Baked pie shell

Mix together sugar, salt, cocoa & cornstarch. Add enough milk (less than ½ cup) to make paste. Add egg yolks to paste & mix well. Add rest of milk. Cook in double boiler until thick. Add vanilla & butter. Pour into crust, add meringue & brown.
