Measure Ingredient
3 \N Parts balsamic vinegar
1½ \N Parts olive oil
\N dash Salt
\N dash Freshly ground pepper
\N dash Sugar
\N \N Garlic cloves; crushed; as
\N \N Many as desired

Incorporate olive oil slowly by drizzling it in and whisking as you go. I often inundate the dressing with lots of fresh basil or cilantro. We haven't had any bottled dressing in this house in years.
