Aunt jean's golden pound cake

Yield: 12 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Butter -- at room
Temperature
3 ounces Cream Cheese -- at room
Temperature
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1½ cup Sugar
5 Whole Eggs
2 cups Flour, All-Purpose --
Sifted
½ teaspoon Baking Powder
½ teaspoon Salt

Beat butter, cheese, and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Gradually add sugar, beating until smooth.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

Sift flour with baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture in thirds, beating until smooth after each addition.

Turn into a greased and lightly floured 9 x 5 x 3" loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until done.
