Apple sauce cornbread

cupMargarine or butter --
Softened
¾cupMOTT'S Regular Apple Sauce
1Egg
1cupAll-purpose flour
½cupCornmeal
½teaspoonBaking powder
½teaspoonBaking soda
¼teaspoonSalt

Directions

Heat oven to 375F. Grease bottom only of 8x4 or 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In large bowl, beat sugar and margarine until light and fluffy. Add apple sauce and egg; beat well. Add flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda and salt, stirring just until moistened. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 375F for 25 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely.
