Apple pudding #2

Ingredients

¼teaspoonBaking soda
¼teaspoonGround nutmeg
¼teaspoonGround cloves
¼teaspoonGround cinnamon
teaspoonSalt
¼cupMargarine; softened
¼cupNuts; chopped (optional)
½cupBrown sugar (may use half honey; half brown sugar)
1Egg; beaten
½cupWhole wheat or unbleached flour
cupApples; chopped

Directions

In a mixing bowl, combine baking soda, spices, salt and softened margarine; mix well, slowly adding the sugar. Add egg and flour, blending thoroughly.

Fold in apples. Pour into a buttered pan or casserole; bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until the center is firm. Better if pecans or walnuts are sprinkled over top before baking.
