Tomato salsa - country cooking

Ingredients

1smallOnion, chopped
1Clove garlic, chopped
2largesRipe tomatoes, chopped
1smallJalapeno pepper, stemmed, seeded and finely chopped
¼teaspoonSalt
¼teaspoonGround black pepper
3tablespoonsChopped fresh cilantro leaves

Directions

1. In heavy 2-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium heat, Add onion and saute 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and saute until soft. Remove from heat.

2. Stir tomatoes, jalapeno pepper, salt, and black pepper into onion mixture. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes to blend flavors, just before serving, stir in cilantro.
